OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We believe that choosing a bag is contingent on four factors: Function, Form, Construction, and Price. Our design process aims to strike a balance at the intersection of all four factors.

Function:

Often when designs optimize for form, function is compromised. Rework's designs are almost always conceived from a functional perspective first. We set a goal for the type of problems we want our gear to solve and the audience they are intended for. Then form takes shape around the function.

Form:

We aim for a low-key aesthetic, especially exteriorly.  Whilst you are out and about in the city, our gear serves to seamlessly blend into your surroundings, acting as an unassuming vessel for whatever your needs are. While we can leverage our patterns to reconcile form and function, construction is equally influential in how you perceive form.

Construction:

Factors such as weight, price, and durability are paramount in making the final decision on what fabrics and hardware we use for our gear to meet daily urban demands for years to come. While we can’t promise that our materials will be the most exciting, we can promise that what we use will stand the test of time. Of course, good materials have to work in tandem with good engineering to ensure the longevity of the product. We reinforce stress points in our products, and conduct stress testing to ensure that our gear can really go the distance.

Price:

Our goal is to make quality and highly functional products that do not break the bank. That said, quality goods can never be dirt cheap because if they were... well, then they would not be quality. Therefore, we source materials and design patterns that we know will withstand long term use, yet fall under a certain cost to produce so that we can keep our pricing reasonable.
