Ergonomic Harness System
-
U-Shaped Wireframe
A lightweight steel frame that gives the back panel structure and provides resistance when the load-lifters are engaged.
-
Load-lifters
Adjustable load-lifters work in tandem with the wireframe to bring the load closer to the body.
-
Sternum Strap
Brings the shoulder straps toward the center of the chest and keeps the pack stable while on the move.
Easy Access
Two quick access pockets designed to keep your items within reach—one from the top-down, and the other by swinging the bag over your shoulder.
External Lash Points
Six lash points across the front and sides of the bag provide attachment points for carabiners or oversized items.
Dedicated Tech Compartment
A padded divider in the false-bottomed laptop compartment fits devices up to 17" on each side.
Secured Zippers
YKK lockable zipper sliders on the main compartment, and zippers that tuck into paracord loops allow you to secure compartments with a lock or add a first line of theft deterrence.
Four-Way Grab Handles
Handles on the top, sides, and bottom allow you to easily maneuver the bag from any angle during travel.

The backpack was the best purchase I’ve made this year. It’s light, durable and versatile. The one thing that is not mentioned on their description of this bag is how well balanced the weight feels while walking or jogging. Is the pack back worth the price? Absolutely!
Having been using different 30L bags for the past years and I can say Outbound is the right choice for me. In terms of functionality, comfiness, stiffness, dimension etc, everything is right as a 30L bag should be. I use it for daily commute carrying my sports clothes, shoes, laptop etc. and took it to a few trips already, more than happy. It fits under airplane seat well enough for me and with some leg room to spare.
I wish there is a separate compartment for documents within the main compartment like the Toshi.
Only one issue I am having:
The fabric used on the padding attach to your body is not so abrasion resistant, its deteriorated only after a few months. I have a shoulder strap pocket attach to my bag and it is especially worn out in that area. No bags of mine have had such issue and I think the choice of fabric here should be reconsidered. I am interested in Toshi V2 as well but this fabric makes me hesitated.
Great Bag for both work and travel!!!!!
It carries a load very comfortably. The straps and back panel have exceptional, high-quality padding, and the materials feel noticeably better against the skin than those on similar packs I’ve used.
The design also makes excellent use of the 30L capacity. I’m able to fit more into this pack than I expected for its size, without it feeling unnecessarily bulky. I especially appreciate the dual water bottle holders, which are something I look for in a travel backpack.
There are a few things I would change. The two separate pockets on the front would be more useful to me as a single, full-length admin panel with some additional organization. I’d also really like to see more color options, particularly blue or gray.
Overall, I’m very happy with this pack and would absolutely recommend it. If you don’t mind black and want a comfortable, well-built 30L travel backpack that makes very good use of its space, this is an excellent choice.
I purchased this marvelous bag shortly after watching it reviewed a nomads nation. I prefer its features and design to my AER travel pack four.
Well, I would use a larger volume travel pack for extended travel, this one is simply perfect for four or five day visits
I want to start by applauding this bag's sternum strap. As a woman with a larger chest, most backpacks do not have sternum straps that can go high enough! This results in really uncomfortable/unflattering squishing. This pack's sternum strap can be placed pretty high and I feel a noticeable comfort improvement when I have it clipped. I don't know if this was an intentional design choice, but thank you for this! You guys could even make it go a few inches higher for folks who are plus sized!
The backpack straps are very padded and comfortable. They aren't overly stiff and don't cut into my neck like most padded straps do. I LOVE the load lifters. Not enough bags have this feature. I commute and go to college, so I carry a very heavy load. The load lifters combined with the soft cushioning make things so much easier on my body. I will say that this pack (fully loaded) stays comfortable for ~20-30 minutes of walking. After that, I do start to notice my shoulders and lower back aching. I can get to where I need to go within that timeframe, so it isn't a deal breaker. I wonder if having an S-strap option or different torso sizes would help with this? I've compromised by carrying some of my things in a big tote alongside this pack. Works for me!
As a travel backpack, it's literally my perfect pack. Everything is easy to access and I can fit so many things. Packing cubes fit wonderfully inside and I like all of the internal pockets. The luggage strap is very nice and the side handles feel sturdy enough. I don't ever feel like I'm going to break the backpack. Everything feels very sturdy. I also like that the bag isn't too bulky on my 5'2" frame. When fully loaded, it still looks reasonable and I don't look like a turtle.
Overall I think this pack is well worth the money, but I don't think it'll work for some body types. If you're shorter than I am and/or have a big chest you might find this pack uncomfortable. I'd love for this pack to have sizing options, but I can understand how hard that'd be. It's still an amazing product and I'll be using it for as long as I'm able!
